Galaxy Note 3 vs. iPhone 5

Hey guys! A lot of you requested a review on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 that I purchased to back in March of this year. However, I’ll be honest–I’ve switched back to my iPhone 5. In this video I explain the benefits and features of the Galaxy Note 3, as well as my decision to go back to Apple. Hope you find this helpful!

I was wondering about how you’d fare when you jumped from iPhone…now I know! Thanks for this video. I’m glad you tried out the Samsung/Android and confirmed everything I suspected (size, missing iTunes, etc., which is why I’m a hardcore Apple fangirl). I’ve always thought that Galaxy phones are waaaaay too big. Ridiculous as a phone…totally looks like people are talking on an iPad Mini (which I love, for talking on FaceTime).

Anyway, another great video, and I’m glad you came back to Apple! Kiss kiss!

My husband has the Samsung Galaxy 3 and I have the iPhone 5s and while we both love our phones we both hate each other’s phones! It’s almost like your review. His phone is way to big for me and doesn’t even fit in some of my smaller clutches.

I love my NOTE 3. Nothing could make me switch. But I do appreciate your perspective.

I have had a few IPhones myself and was considering changing but wasn’t sure. I just get frustrated with Apple because they release a new phone all the time and I can’t get one because I just got the last one, you know Verizon and contracts? I have the 5, couldn’t get 5s but didn’t see a lot of difference in them so was ok but can’t wait for the 6. I also have a Mac and it works good with my laptop. I love love my mac and will always have an Apple laptop so may as well stick with the IPhone. My daughter just switched from IPhone to the new galaxy, its so big! She loves it but Im going to stick with being an APPLE GIRL!! XO

Great review and comparison! I switched from the Iphone5 to the Galaxy Note 3 and have never looked back. Seriously, I was apprehensive (because I LOVED my Iphone) for about 5 minutes and took the plunge and by the time I was playing with my phone in the car on the way home, I just didn’t give the Iphone another thought. To a couple of your points, iTunes was my biggest concern. I have a large music library and wasn’t willing to give that up. HOWEVER, I researched before I bought the Galaxy Note 3 and found an app called Easy Phone Sync that my husband ran for me on my computer and Note3 and then we just sat back and waited for it all to sync and BAM! All my music is done and new playlist on my phone. I also can play my entire library from the cloud on my note3. LOVE that!

I DO know what you mean about the home screen. The Android home screen is complicated and not that friendly. I googled and dug around and found an app called Anythingme, which is a home screen app that is FANTASTIC. Totally converted my home screen, apps and widgets to exactly how I want them. Now, I find my Note3 much more user friendly (for me) than my Iphone.

For me, the size is great. I don’t talk that much on my phone, but when I do, I guess I’m just used to the size now because I just don’t even think about it. My husband still has an iphone and when I pick it up, it feels so tiny to me.

Bottom line, in your review, it showed so much in your voice how much you missed your iphone! If I felt the same way, I’d go back in a flash too!! Good for you for branching out! Again, great review!! Serene

I went from BB to Android about two years ago and have no interest in anything else. I have the S3, which is probably now considered a small android but when I got it, it felt gigantic, it feels so normal now. When I pick up an iphone I’m so thrown by how small it is and how there’s no buttons!

A little off topic but this post reminded me, are you still using your Erin Condren Life Planner?

Thanks for the review, I was wondering how you liked the Note compared to the iphone. I’m a recent convert to the iphone and honestly, though I do like the iphone, I miss Android, which I found much more user friendly and less constraining. But I think that’s really a lot about what one is used to…
Are you thinking of selling your Galaxy Note 3? If so I’d gladly buy it off you (as long as Europe isn’t a problem) 🙂

I also have Iphone 5 but I now really want to get this galaxy note 3 too. I am more comfortable with bigger cells. I feel like they are much easy to use as I have to check mails all the time and then reply so planning to get it soon. Wish me best of luck….xoxoxo…..:)

Hi Kristina! Thanks for the video, I’ve been considering a switch and this is very helpful. I have to ask, what is the nail color you’re wearing in this video? I love it!

Hi! Originally, I left a comment on twitter when you uploaded this video saying that I would hate loosing my msg too and would never switch to Apple. I saw an interesting article today that instantly reminded me of you! Losing msg was not your fault at all! Please read this —>
I am not trying to convert you to android in anyway, but just wanted you to know that there are options if you would still like to try in the future. iphones just does not work for me as the homescreens are always so crowded! Also as Serene mentioned, there are other ways of syncing your iTunes. Doubletwist is another great option that even lets you sync over the air!
