2011 Beauty Favorites

Guess what?! One of my New Year’s resolutions is to get more into vlogging. I feel like videos are such a great way to genuinely connect with you and help avoid sounding like a preacher on a hill shouting down at you guys. I sincerely hope never to sound like that while writing but, you never know — it’s so much more personable to talk to you. πŸ™‚

Visit the YouTube page for links to the products, or if you can’t see the video on your device, and be sure to share/like/subscribe (it’s free!).

Oh I agree! I actually think I prefer them to just plain old photo tutorials! Just have to figure out the best backdrop πŸ˜‰
    Loved this video!

I would love to see you do more “vlogs” because this was a great video! I’m usually not that big of a makeup gal but I think I’m going to have to give the Naked palette and that mascara a try in 2012.

Love to hear about your favs….not such a big fan of video. You are beautiful and well spoken but I’m in such a time crunch I’d rather peruse written word rather than scroll thru a video hoping I don’t miss something. I’m a mom of 2, wife, and (also!) a student (Physical Therapy – let’s hear it for health care!). Just my 2 cents but I will absolutely continue to subscribe to your blog. Thanks for what you do!

I hear ya, Amy K- this will definitely not turn into a blog with a bunch of videos on it. I am planning on just incorporating a bit more media-type posts into the mix to freshen things up a bit–and I will try to make them shorter. I don’t know why I talked for 15 minutes! I tried to cut it down but just couldn’t! πŸ™‚ I appreciate your constructive opinion!

Loved the video (and I need to get that mascara!) but I do hope you’ll have as much written content as usual- you don’t sound like you talk down to us at ALL. I love your writing voice, and well, I find a written tutorial just as effective as a video one. A combination of both wouldn’t go wrong, I think πŸ™‚

Definitely! I don’t want anyone to think I’m moving over into vlogging exclusively – I’ve always had a channel and I am just going to give it a little more love lately. Most videos I post will not be put into blog posts like this, so you won’t be overburdened – you can just check my YouTube channel for any new videos!

I LOVE your vlogs! Please make more! I am definitely going to try out that BB pot rouge – I love that pink!

Great post! I love to hear what people’s favorite’s are.

Love this video! You look fantastic. Thanks for sharing your favorite beautify products!

  11. 01.04.2012 / 3:40 am

I love how you explain why you love it why it works! I really appreciate a real description as opposed to a vague compliment to the product. And I love how you showed how you wear and use them too!

Kristina I’m so glad you did a video blog!!! Cause I was checking the other day your past ones and really like them and like you said it’s a fun more interactive way of presenting things and to vary a little bit.
Like a year ago my aunt bring that mascara back from her trip and saw it and thought ohhh way too fun!!

Thanks for taking the time I know how time consuming is to make a video and especially editing and uploading!!

Great video blog. You’ve sold me on the bronzer and the mascara. That mascara is so cool!!!

I have fair skin like yours and love the way that blush looks on you! I looked around for it and found that QVC sells it. It might be an exclusive to them, which is why it might be hard to find. Just curious if you put translucent powder or anything over the blush? I’ve never used cream blush before.

Love it. I still haven’t gotten the Naked Palette, but I’m using Naked2 every day. Just one question, what eyeliner are you using in this video? It looks amazing! I’ve always had trouble lining my upper lid, but I really love the look you’re rocking here, want to try it out.
And I think you might have convinced me to try Laguna. I always have that problem with bronzer. It just shows up so fake on my skin, especially in the winter.

It’s always great to see a new video on here. πŸ™‚

Great video- I always like to know what others are using and loving for cosmetics. Would definitely like to see an office tour! My favourite bronzer is actually Rimmel’s- by chance I found out that several other of my friends stumbled upon it like I did and loved it- and it blends really well. And that MAC mascara is incredibly intriguing- I may just have to go out and find it!
I really enjoy your videos and you should definitely continue with the vlogging route! Like a lot of people, I get a little detached after watching a YouTube video for ~2 min, but I was interested and engaged for the full duration of yours πŸ™‚

As I fellow blogger interested in doing more video, I have to know- do you shoot your videos with a webcam or video cam?

P.S. Your blush and eye make-up look very lovely in the video!

  18. 01.05.2012 / 11:01 am

It’s great that you’ve started doing YouTube videos again. You seem very natural and at home in front of the camera!
I love the makeup look you have in this video, specifically your eye makeup. Have you considered doing an eye makeup video tutorial?

  19. 01.06.2012 / 6:01 pm

I love your tutorials. This one was so helpful! Do you think you could do one on your makeup application from start to finish (including your eyeliner … because it always looks amazing!)? I would love to see your process for applying foundation, concealer, and for applying eye makeup. Also, can I just say that your skin looks amazing? I know you previously posted on must-haves that included the Clarisonic – do you use it? Do you recommend it? Clearly I have a million questions that you may or may not get to, and I totally understand if you don’t answer all of them.

    • 01.06.2012 / 6:02 pm

…and I just realized I meant to post this on your newer vlog. Oops πŸ™‚ But I loved this one, too!

    • 01.07.2012 / 1:02 am

I will definitely do a makeup routine for ya Pilar! I’m writing that request down now as I type (well, not AS I type..). πŸ™‚ And I definitely recommend the Clarisonic – right now my skin routine involves a lot of exfoliating (laura mercier face polish..I’ve posted about it), and the clarisonic, and Proactiv since I’m prone to breakouts. Thank you for your sweet comments and questions and let me know if you have any more – they make my day!
