My Birthday Luxury Wish List

As I approach the middle of my thirties, I find myself more content than I ever have been in my life. As such, it was difficult–but not difficult?–to envision a dream luxury wishlist. The truth is I could just be sitting at home with a glass of wine, my baby and my husband and my doggies by my side, cozied up in our beautiful home and be over the moon. Who really needs anything, anyway? I have everything I could…

Identity and Motherhood

When you become a mother, something inexplicable happens.  I’ve mentioned this before in a previous post, and on my Instagram, but your identity changes.  For me it wasn’t overnight, but instantly there was that sense of overwhelming unconditional love when my daughter was born.  It’s so cliché but it’s cliché because it’s true.  Instantly there is another human in the world who you would give your life to save, and she doesn’t even know your name (yet). Shop My Look…

How & Why I’ve Changed

If you looked at videos I filmed exactly one year from today, and compared them to now (the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018) – I’m sure you could tell there is a drastic difference in my persona. How? Well, for starters, I was actually quite miserable in 2016.  HB and I had basically picked up, sold our house and moved across the country, leaving both of our families, all for the sake of HB’s fellowship. The friendships…

The Word of the Year 2017

When I look back on 2017 as it comes to a close, I’m amazed at how divided my attitude towards the year has been. On the one hand, I started off the year in a completely different state, away from friends & family, in a job that was grueling (more on that in an upcoming post). But then our little miracle happened. And it seemed that after that, everything started falling into place. I know there have been some major…

How I’m Building My Investment Wardrobe

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve actually purchased less. I know what you may be thinking, “Kristina, what are you talking about, you buy things all the time.” While I won’t disagree with you–this girl definitely knows how to feel spendy–I have to say, that I purchase less (quantity) though I may on occasion spend more.   Why?   Because I am more interested in investment pieces that will last me a decade, rather than a season. Because I am more interested in…

Post Partum Update

As the days turn cooler and as Harper (my newborn) and I swing into a more manageable routine, I have been more and more tempted out of my pajamas. Today is one prime example. Don’t get it twisted, though: if I’m wearing clothes, they may as well be pajamas, because they are geared for comfort and nursing access more than anything else. Case in point: nursing top from Nordstrom. Ozalia Boots that feel like I’m wearing socks out of the…

Holiday Gifts for Her 2017

This is perhaps my most favorite of all gift guides to create, perhaps for obvious reasons. I basically get to scour the web searching for the things I love and own or covet insatiously (is that a word?). You’ll find a lot of grey, a lot of cozy cashmere, and earthy tones in this roundup this year. I think it’s because being postpartum I am basically living in a grey bathrobe (albeit one from Target so, ahem ahem, HB, if…

Beauty Gift Ideas 2017

I cannot believe the holidays are already around the corner! It’s almost Thanksgiving, and for some people, that is good enough reason to start unpacking the holiday decor. Guilty as charged! I haven’t had much opportunity to film anything since Harper was born, but I do have ample hours to write blog posts while the little one is feeding or sleeping. I promise, when I’m up to it, I’ll film some baby/birth related videos! For now, I wanted to share…
