BDIB: Neon + Neutral

Neon ♥’s Neutral

I’ve been so excited to debut this trend assignment for Bloggers Do It Better. Since Burberry Prorsum (and Jil Sander, and Max Mara…) debuted the look on its runway for S/S ’11, Neon + Neutral has been on everyone’s minds (I can only speak for myself, actually).

The look marries a simple neutral palette with a pop of neon color. Think colorblocking meeting the neutrals trend and having a baby together. A perfect balance, the neutral grounds the bright fluorescent color accenting the ensemble. It’s a look I can’t wait to have fun with this weekend. I know you will have a blast with it too!

I can’t decide whether I’m going to go big with the neon, or small for a pop of color (like an accessory + nail polish + lipstick). What will you be doing?

New to Bloggers Do It Better?

Never fear! Click here to read the rules for participating (don’t worry, there aren’t many). Then, you can get started!

By the way…

I have been making a few changes and tweaks to the blog design to make it easier to read, more fun, etc. I hope you like them! Check out one of my favorite new creations: the latest Tweet at the top of the page!

    I'm taking the challenge!
I'll start digging in my closet right away. I've seen the previous BDIB and I really like the initiative, very good idea!

    Keep up the good work!

Question: Is Neutrals defined as nudes or do black and grays qualify?

Also, your current BDIB rules say the button may be anywhere on the blog, preferably the that a change?

I was wondering the same thing as The Chief Blonde–if blacks and grays counted. I want to say yes, but the examples were white and nude colors. I think I'll do one outfit with a beige, another with black, and that way I'm covered.

  33. 06.15.2011 / 6:01 pm

Can't wait to style an outfit for this challenge! This is going to be my favorite look.

  34. 06.15.2011 / 11:00 pm

This is my first time doing BDIB and I'm confused – once I've made the post, I put the link as a comment to this post? Or am I missing a widget somewhere in this post? Or do you actually mean in the post that's coming out on the 17th/Friday?
