10 Best (Free!) iPhone Apps for Fashionistas

I have an iPhone. Yes, I do. And I'm proud of it. If you have an iPhone, say it loud and say it proud, sista! (Preferably in the comments--people around you may call the police.)Here are the top 10 best iPhone apps for fashionistas like you and me. (Oh, and they're all free.)

10. Coathangr

Coathangr is a unique application in that it attempts to transform everyday fashion into a social media outlet. Here, you take pictures of your outfit (just as you might for your blog), and it's uploaded to your account, where you can "friend" other users and see the outfits they've worn lately. Personally, I don't have time for this, nor do I dress well enough (at all?) to consistently use this, but it's on my iPhone, you know...just in case.

9. Nylon

Nylon is a magazine devoted to fashion and beauty, and other women's culture "stuff". Fortunately, the iPhone application is a lot less -- shall we say, in your face? -- than their website (take a look, ew!). Spare me the flashing ads and just give me the content! Fortunately, there's an app for that.

8. Macy's

No matter what anyone else claiming to be a fashionista tries to scare into you, you do NOT have to look like (or pay as much for clothes as) Lady Gaga to be considered fashionable. Some of my best ensembles come from Target, and yes, Macy's. My friend Sarah just got a cowl-neck sweater on sale for only ten bucks! Methinks she will like this iPhone app as much as I do. Check it out!

7. Gilt on the Go

I LOVE this app. Mainly because I love Gilt. Have you joined? You probably should. It's sample sales, online, for those of us who don't live in New York City. But you'll need an invite (you're welcome). Best of all, this app is fully functional. Everything you can do on the website you can do here, including browsing photos of merchandise, navigating through different sales, and purchasing from first love, to cha-ching-checkout!

6. Sartorialist

Now, I'm not sure why one fashion blog has their own full-fledged iPhone app (consisting only of pictures, as is the main idea of Sartorialist), when methinks a mobile version of the site would have worked just peachy, but, y'know...whatever floats your boat. The app is really well made and showcases the photos in iPhone-friendly dimensions to fit to your screen. No pinching--yay!

5. Style.com

I like this iPhone app version of Style.com for its ease of use, its fancy opening (hey, I like flashy shiny things...or didn't you already know that about me?) and best of all--its videos. Check them out. It's like being in the middle of the fashion show! Michael Kors! Balmain! Alice + Olivia! Heaven!

4. PopSugar mobile

Everything you love about the sugar sites (my favorite: FabSugar) all in one handy little iPhone app. I love reading their articles and answering their polls/surveys, and this mobile app makes it way handier to do it on the go than surfing the full site.

3. ShopStyle

How do I love thee, ShopStyle? Let me count the ways...I love this website. And man, oh, man, do I love this iPhone app. They cull all the products from everywhere you can imagine ($ to $$$$) and let you find that perfect scarf, or pair of glasses, or over the knee boots, and sort by price range, color, material, brand, store...you name it. Did I mention it's free? Sa-weet!

2. Lucky Magazine

The newest addition to my collection of fashion-conscious iPhone apps, Lucky calls itself "At Your Service". It makes out to be a concierge-like shopping assistant, complete with "my requests" (bookmarked product ideas), push notifications, gift ideas, and...ads, ew. But hey, it's free so I guess it's alright with me! At least they're relevant (i.e., a Tiffany ad is on mine right now).

1. PSS Mobile

Although technically not an app, per-se, Pretty, Shiny, Sparkly does happen to be very iPhone & iPod Touch friendly! Just navigate to prettyshinysparkly.com on your iPhone or iPod Touch, and you will be shown the mobile version of this site. Save it for later (with this cute icon on your home screen!) by clicking the "+" icon to bookmark, then select "Add to Home Screen". Voila! Fashion at your fingertips!

I hope you enjoyed this collection of iPhone apps for Fashionistas. If there are any you think I left out, or that I should check out, please let me know in the comments! What do YOU use for your fashion fix?
