On Body Confidence
As a child I suffered from a handful of skin conditions. As a physician, I now know to call them "atopic". Eczema, rashes, dry skin, hives - you name it, I had it. Interestingly enough, as the name atopic suggests, it comes from within me. It has nothing to do with touching the wrong plant, using the wrong cream, or being allergic to medication. Quite simply, this diathesis of skin problems originates from the body's own immune system.Early on, I quickly grew comfortable in long pants, long sleeves. Not only because I had a tendency to develop eczema a.k.a. those dry flaky patches that tend to crop up in flexor surfaces (i.e. inside elbows, behind knees, in-between fingers), but also because I just didn't like the shape of my legs as I matured. I thought their shape to be unsightly. The models in the magazines (I was a 90's kid growing up at the height of "heroin-chic") all had stick-thin legs, and clothes just looked better on them.During the winter time I take full advantage of the weather as an excuse to basically never let my legs see the light of day.I'm going to change that. I'm on a mission to always have smooth, flake-free, downright glossy looking legs this year and I'm so excited to team up with Curél® to make that possible. I'm going to be testing out their new Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer, whose water-activated moisture works deep into the skin's surface, helping to repair the moisture barrier with Advanced Ceramide Complex that immediately absorbs, and promises to be completely greaseless. Bonus for us eczematous types: it's fragrance-free and dermatologist recommended! It also received the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance™.If you also suffer from dry skin or atopic conditions such as eczema, feel free to pick up a bottle of the Curel Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer for yourself and let's document the experience together!

So just what are Ceramides? They're naturally present in healthy skin and are vital building blocks to maintain skin's own natural protective moisture barrier. Because the ceramides are present in Curél® Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer, it allows the moisturizer to penetrate deeply into the source of the dryness, replenish ceramide levels, and repair that finicky moisture barrier.I'm excited to go on this journey with Curel® towards curing my aversion to shorts and dresses and bring my dry stems out into the world, moisturized and loving life!Visit Curel.com for more information.
