For this installment of Bloggers Do It Better, winter coats are the name of the game. As mentioned in my previous post, I ordered this lovely coat from Zara.com and before I had even pressed "complete order" I already knew that I wanted to have it altered in a few subtle ways. Namely, the coat has two decorative buttons on the breast area which (horrifyingly) sit right over one's nipple region. I had my tailor remove the buttons, stating that they looked like nipples, and waited patiently to see if his face turned red (rather disappointingly, it didn't).
I also had the coat shortened to knee-length to fit my staunchly petite frame, and the sleeves were shortened to fit my freakishly short arms.
My patience and foresight were rewarded, as I happily now have what I consider to be a coat that looks more expensive than it actually was.
We're on the cusp of summer/winter currently here in Houston, Texas. When I wake up each morning, I don't know if the temperature high will be 75, or 85. But the days have been absolutely gorgeous: clear, crisp, with the precipitous sensation that soon it will tip over the edge and plummet into winter. I guess that's why we call it Fall.
P.S. - these boots are the most comfortable pair I own! Like wearing slippers!
