YSL Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation Review

The Yves Saint Laurent foundation line has been as prestigious as it is pricey.  But when I found out they had gone and released a cushion foundation overseas and it wasn't available in the United States (yet) - well, let me tell you: I just had to have it.

The packaging is the best of any cushion foundation I’ve tried

The YSL "Le Cushion Encre de Peau" or Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation, SPF 23 PA ++ takes the well-received Fusion Ink foundation released a few years ago and pots it in a portable, convenient, refillable, downright gorgeous black and gold cushion compact. It comes with an applicator sponge and shiny gold and black packaging.

The packaging is hands down the best of any cushion foundation I've seen or tested. ??

The foundation goes on smoothly and quite medium-to-high coverage, and I think it applies better with the included pad, than with a beauty blender which tends to apply too much product.

It can tend to gather in the corners of the nose and will cling to dry patches, therefore as with the original Fusion Ink formula, this probably isn't best for dry skins.

I found the coverage to be quite natural once it set, which did take 4-5 minutes.

Once set, though, I found it so camouflaged my imperfections that I quite needed a bit of bronzing, blush, and my normal contour routine (not for everyone, I know) just to bring back the dimension in my face.
