Capes, Friends, and Winged Things

vintage cape, halston heritage dress (worn as top), paige premium denim jeans, calvin klein shoes, vintage bangles, michael kors watch c/o shop bop

Don’t forget to enter the Pradman Jewelry giveaway! The disco dress had it! In my last post I had asked you all which dress I should wear to the rehearsal dinner for the wedding of one of my very best friends. Both dresses were equally gorgeous but, in the end, the disco dress fit better. It was, however, far far too short to be respectable (or even to move in) at a rehearsal dinner. So at Tracy’s and [houston]’s suggestions, I paired it with pants and wore it as a top. It worked like a charm! I also had to pair it with my new-old vintage cape I picked up in Los Angeles last September. Isn’t it perfect with these wingy sleeves?

Wee!!!!!

This is my friend Tracy.

“Do I get a spotlight on your blog?” She asks.

“But of course you do!” I say.

INTRODUCING TRACY – my best friend since the third grade! She and I were bridesmaids (and cabin-mates) at the wedding this weekend!

Tracy has always had an innate sense of style. She never wears too much of anything, always balances her outfits and accessories, and knows how to spice up an outfit (check out that amazing belt!). I think she has pretty much the best smile ever, don’t you?

  • that dress/tunic/top is great with the pants!
You and your friend are too cute! 🙂

  • There are few things cooler than an elegant vintage cape!

  • Um LOVE the cape and the top. How on earth did the Halston dress look an appropriate length on the model from RTW? You know that girl is like….6 feet tall. Photoshop magic? (Wait, was there even a model? Crap, maybe I just made that up.) You look fantastic.

    • You know, I have no idea Arlyn. It boggles my mind. I'm a diminutive 5'2" and there was no way I could raise my arms up above my head without baring all for the world to see! Definitely a fashion Don't!!!

  • Super cute! And I LOVE that cape. 🙂

  • Awww it's Tracy!! Both outfits look so adorable on you girls!! Though I do agree, the disco dress really is a bit short for a wedding rehearsal dinner … looks great with the jeans and shoes though!!
