The New M. Gemi Corsa Boot

M. Gemi is launching a new Italian-leather, Florence-made boot called the Corsa and it is¬†gooooooorgeoussss. They asked me if I wouldn’t mind trying a pair to review prior to their release and I enthusiastically said yes (I was not compensated and I did not guarantee a review nor did I guarantee any mention or more specifically a positive mention–they shipped a pair of boots and I could either love them or hate them). ¬†Well, the results are in, and I…

Identity and Motherhood

When you become a mother, something inexplicable happens. ¬†I’ve mentioned this before in a previous post, and on my Instagram, but your identity changes. ¬†For me it wasn’t overnight, but instantly there was that sense of overwhelming unconditional love when my daughter was born. ¬†It’s so clich√© but it’s clich√© because it’s true. ¬†Instantly there is another human in the world who you would give your life to save, and she doesn’t even know your name (yet). Shop My Look…

How & Why I’ve Changed

If you looked at videos I filmed exactly one year from today, and compared them to now (the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018) – I’m sure you could tell there is a drastic difference in my persona. How? Well, for starters, I was actually quite miserable in 2016. ¬†HB and I had basically picked up, sold our house and moved across the country, leaving both of our families, all for the sake of HB’s fellowship. The friendships…

How I’m Building My Investment Wardrobe

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve actually purchased¬†less. I know what you may be thinking, “Kristina, what are you talking about, you buy things¬†all the time.” While I won’t disagree with you–this girl definitely knows how to feel spendy–I have to say, that I purchase less (quantity) though I may on occasion spend more.   Why?   Because I am more interested in investment pieces that will last me a decade, rather than a season. Because I am more interested in…

Post Partum Update

As the days turn cooler and as Harper (my newborn) and I swing into a more manageable routine, I have been more and more tempted out of my pajamas. Today is one prime example. Don’t get it twisted, though: if I’m wearing clothes, they may as well be pajamas, because they are geared for comfort and nursing access more than anything else. Case in point: nursing top from Nordstrom. Ozalia Boots that feel like I’m wearing socks out of the…

Dreamwalking

The bump is getting larger and it’s getting harder to feel stylish when you’re starting to waddle a little bit. I honestly don’t know how the pro fashion bloggers do it. I mean, most of them are super tall and stick-thin, of which I am neither, but I just generally feel so¬†slow and¬†encumbered (is that the right word?). Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy as a clam, but adjusting to a new body type that has emerged within 20 short…

Le Sport Chic

my how things have changed I’m having a blast with these Adidas Tubular sneaks – they’re the right mix of neutral beige and sporty effortlessness. I’m still experimenting with them on what goes and what doesn’t – but I quite liked this look on a rare, brisk Tuesday afternoon. Since I’ve become pregnant it’s amazing what temperature swings will do to you! My husband doesn’t understand my new need to bring a coat inside of the movie theater despite the…

On Body Confidence

As a child I suffered from a handful of skin conditions. As a physician, I now know to call them “atopic”. Eczema, rashes, dry skin, hives – you name it, I had it. Interestingly enough, as the name¬†atopic suggests, it comes from within me. It has nothing to do with touching the wrong plant, using the wrong cream, or being allergic to medication. Quite simply, this¬†diathesis¬†of skin problems originates from the body’s own immune system. Early on, I quickly grew…
