As we transition from summer to fall, it can be a bit hard to let go of brights, down here in the South. Especially because we’re still looking at 88 degree weather. But I’ve found that a great way to pull them off this late in the game is to ground them with fall neutrals, like these army-green skinnies (seen here) and this taupe bag. I just love the colors in the collection Isaac Mizrahi designed for the Chevy Malibu project I’ve been a part of. Adding a little bling in the form of gold accessories doesn’t hurt either, and it gives me an excuse to wear my college ring. Hook ’em horns!
If you like how I styled my waves here, then be sure to stick around for November 1st (also my half birthday, and my blog’s third birthday) for a fun video tutorial on these Lauren Conrad-esque waves.
It’s been a while since I’ve included bloopers, so…here ya go!

The sky blue and gold are such a pretty combination! Got to love a little bling.

I Loooove the color combo here! I must say, I’m not usually a fan of oxfords, but those Issac Mizrahi ones from the Chevy Malibu collection are cute! I hear ya on the brights! I too have had a hard time transitioning from them to fall colors, but, you are so right in mixing them with great fall neutrals! Because, that way, we don’t have to give them up! 🙂
Thank you, Stephanie! 🙂
Great job with including color in your outfit. I love neutrals but I don’t want to completely say bye to color this Fall. Excited to see your new video!
I love this. It’s casual (but would pass at my job) and fun and full of color. I love the waves, I crave waves like those! I will eagerly await the tutorial as I daydream about your enviable bag!-Ash

Thanks Ash, stay tuned on the first for the video! xo
Here in Australia it is heading towards summer but all I want to wear is burgundy and khaki! Luckily I’ll be in London in a few weeks and can bust out the winter colours. x
I always (admittedly) forget that you guys have it different down under! Hopefully this is a bit better outfit since you can take it either way…ie, transitioning into summer rather than out of it 🙂
I love the colour of your blouse and the way you have added a pop of red through your shoes 🙂

Kristina! Just read your article on IFB about blogging with a full-time job. You’re amazing! My sister is a doctor and she takes my photos for my blog. It’s tough to make time for photo shoots with her busy schedule and mine (I also work full-time at an ad agency). Mostly, I can’t imagine how busy you must be trying to be the blogger and the doctor. But I SO admire you for it. Love your personality and all you’re doing in the fashion-blogging world!xo,

I like this look, especially how it features your bag and shoes, along with the whole outfit perfectly. 😀 Simple and just the right dose of colour combination.
