Cool Hand Luke

Behold, the aforementioned $25 leather pants treasure found at my local Buffalo Exchange. I paired them with another thrift find from the same store, a sheer tunic with pretty beading and sequins–from Forever 21, of all places!

While I admit the leather pants in broad daylight got me some long looks at the Sulphur, Louisiana Waffle House on a bright Sunday morning before heading back to Texas, the pants were extremely comfortable–and extremely soft. I can’t wait to pair them with ruffled blouses, polka dots, and more sheer tops.

These Sam Edelman suede boots have really turned out to be one of the most unexpectedly versatile style pieces I own.

Happy Friday, everyone. [houston] and I are seeing Lady Antebellum at the Rodeo tonight, which I’m super excited about. I’ll be working as well as heading to Austin to speak at the first-ever Texas Style Council Conference. Hope to see you there!

I'm still loving the leather pants. Long lingering looks aren't always bad. They're just jealous they didnt find such a steal is all.

Those pants are SO hot. But it's really the boots that are turning me green with envy, they're just so fabulous. Awesome outfit!

You can still find them here and they're about 50% off. Maybe they have them in your size?

The aviators absolutely make the whole outfit. I'm totally a leather fan, but I've always worried that with pants, there would be a stickiness problem. Do you have this experience, or are they fabulously lined in some way?

    • 03.11.2011 / 4:04 pm

no problems with feeling sticky at all! they are lined and i definitely wouldn't buy a pair that aren't if i were you!

Wait wait, are you and HB engaged or is that just one of your yurman rings on your left hand?!

I'm honestly a little surprised you got some looks in those pants, I figured out of anywhere, the South would be more understanding of leather pants. I don't know why..I just have some strange notion that everyone down there has a pair/

Oh lordy I always forget to make a disclaimer when I wear my DY ring on my left finger – it's definitely not an engagement ring, and yes, you will KNOW when it is!! LOL! Thanks Caroline!

How's that watch doing!? Any rose gold finish rubbing off?

    • 03.11.2011 / 4:18 pm

Hey Jess! The watch has so far had no rubbing off of the rose gold finish whatsoever, and I've been wearing it nearly every day. So far so good!

You look fab in the leather pants! And I love them paired with the girly top.

  10. 03.11.2011 / 1:47 pm

I love the combination of the pants which fit you perfectly by the way, along with the sheer top, the boots are amazing and I'm totally jealous that you can so easily prance around in them without them killing your feet! I'm not so lucky in the high heel department!

Would love for you to check out my Online Consignment Store called sometime, I bet you would find some new additions to your wardrobe there as I have a lot of smaller sized pieces.

You look like such a bad ass! But in a chic, fashionable way πŸ™‚ I never thought I'd be a leather pants person, but maybe I'll start looking around for some… The aviators totally complete this outfit!

I love them!! I had to laugh at the Sulphur Waffle House comment. I live in Sulphur, La and yes I get some pretty weird looks too. Most folks here just wear jeans and tshirts, not much fashion sense in our area! LOL!

  15. 03.17.2011 / 3:53 pm

This is one of my favourite things you've put together. The contrast between the leather and the sheer feminine top is incredible! As always, I'm a fan of the shoes too!
I need to get to some thrift shops soon, my wardrobe is in serious need of some inspiration!

    Cheers xoxo
