Double Take

I will be the first to admit it: I have a tendency to find favor in the routine. If I’ve found the perfect breakfast taco, why would anyone keep trying other places? I only trust the baked potatoes at my work’s cafeteria–so I’ve been known to eat them everyday for a week. I don’t know for sure if its a genetic trait, but if my father’s routine of eating a bowl of Corn Flakes every morning for 30 years is any indication, well…I think we’ve answered that question.

I’ve worn a similar rendition of this outfit before, you see. The truth is, when I find something I like, I stick with it. Double denim is one of those combinations that I absolutely love playing with. And in this iteration, I don’t think it looks too country cowpoke hick farmer-girl when paired with a few chic, stereotype-shattering accessories like a high-end bag (a crossbody, naturally), sparkly flats, and rhinestone-encrusted friendship bracelets.

Honestly, why mess with a good thing?

I have those exact same sandals! I need to get a chambray shirt ASAP because I can’t believe I don’t own one. Do I have to hand over my little fashion cred card with that revelation?

Not at all Heidi! This is the only chambray shirt I own and I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve thought about wearing it! It’s such a shame really because it really is a comfy shirt. Mostly I wear it for extra layers in movie theaters. 🙂

I love how everyone is showing off their phillip lim for target satchels and you have the actual, real designer bag!The difference in the quality is amazing! The mini satchel for Target does have the same shape but the leather on this one is just outstanding.I love the flared jean hear with the button down! It’s c=so classic and clean, very all American. Like a Ralph Lauren add.

Haha to be honest it wasn’t really planned that way – I just discovered and really loved the bag and had to have it! Oops!

There is no such thing as too much of a good thing right? There’s nothing wrong with sticking with a fabulous outfit that you love. Ps. the blog is looking amazing, it’s been a while since I visited but I love the new header.

Chambray is great, it works dressed up or down and I love my chambray top ALOT! I wore it all the time this past summer. And those baked potatoes are the bomb, I ate them almost everyday when I worked there too, to the point that they knew the way I liked it 🙂

I’m the same way with routine. I’ve eaten a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch everyday since middle school.

Love the bag! Also, I completely relate when it comes to routine. Once I’m in a routine I like to keep doing it, and I don’t really find it hard or boring to have the same thing everyday.

So I haven’t really regretted not doing the whole Philip Lim x Target thing until I thought this was a bag from the collection- and then I was all holy crap I missed this gorgeous bag?!? And then I was all like whoops, nope it’s the real thing.
    …and then I felt a little better

I love doing double denim! You can get so many varieties and textures from it. Especially in the fall! That definitely plays a role in why it is my favorite season =] I love this combination by the way very comfy looking yet has a “done up” look.

Super cute! I think the reason this particular look works so well is the color difference between the two denims. That is key for me. And all the accessories help too. 🙂
