Get Your Conference On!

Whoa. 2011 is off to a rip-roaring start!

It all started with an invitation to moderate a panel for an inaugural conference called the Texas Style Council (March 11-13th in Austin, TX).

Then I got an email from Brandon Holley, editor-in-chief of none other than my favorite publication, Lucky Magazine, inviting me to the FABB (Fashion & Beauty Blog) conference in NYC. Hm, well, can’t turn an invitation like that down!

Then I had the honor of being asked to moderate a panel at the largest fashion blog conference in the world, Evolving Influence.

Please picture me kneeling, hands clasped in prayer & thanks, face turned to the sky, whispering…”Thank you Thank you Thank you!”

I’m so humbled, honored, excited, and above all itching to get myself over to NYC for my first-ever experience not only in New York City, which I have dreamed of visiting for over a decade, but my first fashion week as well. Please make it to at least one of these three amazing conferences, because I’m dying to meet you! If you can’t make it out in person, you should definitely watch Evolving Influence via livestream when it happens!

Congrats from a fairly new reader! From now on I'm using you in ALL arguments w/ my 3rd year husband. "You can't go out to dinner because of a surgery? BUT KRISTINA WENT TO FASHION WEEK!!"

    • Haha you crack me up! The life of a 3rd year can be pretty darn grueling so have about as much patience as you would if he were at a minimum-wage job working 12 hour days. Except he won't actually be making any money…just losing it. LOL.

And hey, don't drag me into this!!! Hahaha…I've gotta tell HB your comment, he'll laugh!

  • That's really exciting and rewarding, I bet! You're gonna have a great time! Enjoy and keep us informed all about it! I can't make it to any – work, work, work – but hope to hear about it through PSS!

    • Aww I'm sad to hear that Laine! Hope you'll at least be able to watch on the livestream?

  • Wow, that is so exciting! I am so happy for you, Kristina – looks like 2011 is going to be an amazing year for you!

I wish I could make it to IFB – I was already so disappointed I couldn't make it, and when I learned you and Vahni were now involved as moderators, it just made it ten times worse! Looking forward to living vicariously through your ladies, and congratulations, again, on such a wonderful start to the year!

    • Be sure to watch the livestream at least, girl!!! So sad to hear you can't make it 🙁

  • Congrats!!! What an exciting honor!

  • Congratulations Kristina! that's so exciting to have been contacted for all these things. public speaking is something i'd be petrified of doing, so i commend your fearlessness! it will also put you in a great position amongst the blogging community. i am 80% sure i'll be going to IFB and i'm excited to see the panel you'll be moderating!

    • you better make that 100% missy! thanks doll and come find me at some point during ifb!

  • This is so great for you and it seems like it is going to be such a fun time. I can't make it to NY – I've already promised and made plans to attend the Style Nation meetup in Las Vegas so that is where my vacation time and money is allotted. How great that bloggers are getting noticed and acknowledged. That is the best part of it all!!
    Have a fantastic time!

    • wow, vegas baby!! that is super exciting, i love vegas. i've never been to nyc and i DIED when i couldn't go last season (or the season before that) but i'm excited to finally get to see the action and be a part of it!

  • Your blog has become a regular read for me, so I am not surprised that you were asked to participate in these great conferences, congrats! I look forward to meeting you/hearing you speak at the IFB Evolving Influence conference, I'll be attending as well!

    • Thank you Shen! Look forward to meeting you !

  • I'm planning on attending the Texas Style Council in Austin, and I'll have to make sure to find you there! I'm actually a fellow Houstonian in the Med Center, so it's been neat to find your site and see all these backgrounds in your shots that I recognize. Good luck with IFB and FABB, that's really exciting that they asked you to be a part of it!

    • Oh my gosh what a small world! Yeah one other reader I've tweeted with works in my med school building! Crazy huh! See you in Austin Heather!

  • Well, well, well, congratulations! 2011 is off to an amazing start for you! I so wish I could attend at least one of these events, but alas, my beach life calls. 🙂 Maybe next year!

    • Haha thanks Santina (I enjoyed your well, well, well, lol)

  • Thank you for the links for registration. I will be attending the IFB conference!! 🙂 See you there!

  • p.s CONGRATS on being invited to all the events! 🙂

  • Girl, if you can do all this AND be a medical student … the rest of us have no excuses!! You rock 🙂

    • haha that made me laugh… 🙂 I did have to ask for permission to take days off in the middle of the week but they're letting me go! I find (and I'm sure most do) that when I'm passionate about something, I can always find a way to get it.

Usually this refers to articles of clothing or pricey gadgets, but I can make it apply to anything I guess. 😉

  • Do you know anyone who has been to the ifb conference before? We are considering going, but want to get feedback from someone who has been.

    Thanks!

    Bud & Leo

    • I would suggest polling people at the IFB website.

  • YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWW!

See you there, sugar! So excited with you and for you. You inspire so many, so I'm glad to see you getting the spotlight you absolutely deserve! Congratulations!
