Harper’s Bazaar Glossybox

glossybox_harpers_bazaar1smThis month’s Glossybox is pretty special – it has teamed up with the beauty editor of Harper’s Bazaar for an awesomely curated collection of truly high-end items. There’s a (what looks to be) full size Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics lip tar in an anyone-can-wear dark honey shade that likens itself to Clinique’s Black Honey–it’s vampy in the tube but sheers out to a flattering color on the lips.
Then there’s the Benefit They’re Real mascara in a respectable mini sample size–I’ve got tons of these floating around from Sephora birthday samples but I’m happy to add one to my stash of minis for travel.

Again we see the ubiquitous Bvlgari au thé vert variety…I’ve got to be honest, I’m a little tired of seeing this in my glossybox, as I’m not keen on the scent and Lord knows I have no need for another miniature –but this time it’s a hair conditioner which could be handy for travelers, again. I would have liked to see it as a pair with its partner shampoo, though.

There’s an essie nail polish – full size, which makes me very happy. A rather run-of-the-mill classic red, which makes me kind of “meh”. Still, though, nice to see another full size product in this box! Impressed!

Lastly there is another glossybox brand perennial: Vichy, which I’ve heard of but not used much–this time it’s the Liftactiv Night anti-wrinkle cream which promises to be for sensitive skin, allergy tested, and contain Vichy thermal spa water(??). It sounds nice enough.

Last but certainly not least is the FABULOUS bow-themed clutch/pouch that also arrived with my Glossybox. It’s so adorable and functional that I immediately tucked my Frends headphones into it and placed it in my handbag, which is where it now resides. Update: Glossybox is not including these in the boxes. I’m sorry for the confusion! Unfortunately it wasn’t made clear that it was a gifted item!

What are your thoughts on this month’s Glossybox? If you subscribe to a monthly box of some sort, let me know which, I’d love to hear what you subscribe to and what your thoughts are on it!

I LOVE that bow clutch! It’s prob my fav item. I had no idea that would be included (there have been lots of spoilers out). I’m so excited to receive it now! Thank you for sharing.

Hi Jessica! Glossybox contacted me–they did not mention that the clutch is not included. I’m sorry for even including it in the photographs since it is pretty misleading–I’ll be honest, I thought it was included because they didn’t mention anything about it not being so. Sorry guys.

Oh wow! This whole time I’ve been thinking it was $30! Also guys, I found out from Glossybox that the clutch isn’t included. 🙁 They failed to mention that to me when the box came. So sorry for the confusion.

I’ve used Vichy for years and find their products do what they say they will do and deliver results without being overly expensive. There is always a bottle of their facial cleanser ‘Pureté Thermal’ on my bathroom shelf because it leaves my skin feeling clean, soft, smooth, healthy and transformed. No matter how many others I try, I always go back to this. I also have a bottle in the guest bathroom and guests who use it often ask if they can take it home or at the very least comment positively on how good their faces feel and look after using it. Another effective favourite is ‘LiftActiv Serum 10’, it’s one of those serums that transforms skin texture by firming, lifting, helping pores look reduced and making wrinkles less visible. When I first used it I noticed a visible difference after three weeks and was getting compliments by the fourth. I’m afraid this is beginning to sound a little like an advertisement but I’m just sharing honestly about a brand I’ve trusted for many years and always highly recommend its products to family and friends.
By the way, the ‘Thermal Spa Water’ you were wondering about and that Vichy puts in all their products has been been recognized for its therapeutic properties by the medical community since the 17th century and contains minerals and properties to soothe, protect, strengthen and balance skin.

I hope this informs you a bit about ‘Vichy’ and from a regular user at that. Have fun with your Glossy Box! (Not very familiar with this concept here in Europe but looks like a nice way to try new products on a regular basis).

I subscribe to Birchbox. Same sort of items, some full size, some sample size. Usually 5-7 items/box for $10/month. How much is the glossybox?

That clutch is so adorable! Glossybox often tempts me 😛 I used to do Birchbox but cancelled because I wasn’t impressed with the samples. I have been receiving Beauty Box 5 for almost a year now. Their’s is $12 a month and you get 5 deluxe beauty samples and there is always one full size product in each box. They work with many known brands and some all-natural brands I’ve never heard of before so each box is super exciting. If you are interested at all there’s a promo going on where if you sign up by September 31st you can receive the August box for free (use code “AUGUSTFREE” at checkout): http://shrsl.com/?%7E640s
