Independence Chic

Forever 21 panama hat, $9.80 | Forever 21 polka dot dress, $24.80 | Elizabeth & James Lafayette sunglasses, $155 | J. Crew double-row chain necklace, $75 | J. Crew classic pavé link bracelet, $118 | TOMS red nautical stripe wedge, $69

[houston] and I will be celebrating Independence Day a little early this year, because he has Sunday instead of Monday (July 4th) off from work. I’m dreaming up a little inspiration for a barbeque when I get back from Cali tonight. Do you have any plans for the holiday weekend? If you hail from a country other than the United States, you must leave a comment telling me where you’re from!

All of these items are amazing, but my favorite are the hat and sunglasses. As for the holiday, I am from Croatia (Europe), and we don't have a 4th of July, but wouldn't mind to dress like this 🙂

Great post Kristina. I really like the Tom's wedges shown here. I've been in the mood for comfortable shoes this weekend and those like they would work.

I'm originally from the US but reside in Canada now. It was Canada Day this weekend. Pretty much the same dealio as the 4th, only with a sprinkling of maple leafs….

Happy (almost) fourth of July!! I hope you have a wonderful weekend. We just celebrated our national holiday on Friday which really drew in some amazing crowds. Tomorrow in honour of our friends to the south the Ceremonial Guard will be playing your lovely anthem for the American Ambassador. I'm looking forward to checking it out.
Hugs and high-fives from your fan in the Great White North!

I spent my long weekend plus a day or two extra at Boston this year. Walked along the Charles river, visited downtown, ate the most amazing food and finished the whole trip by witnessing the best fireworks on this side of the country! I am originally from India and I have been living here for the past three years. I love everything American, especially the people. <3

I would love to post something similar. Thanks for the inspiration!

  34. 07.09.2011 / 9:37 pm

LOVE this collage! What a great way to do 4th of July looks without being too literal! What program do you use to put these together? I'm currently using snagit which I love, but this one looks like a lot of fun too!
