  • This is awesome! Definitely going to try the Murad & Anew Clinical products…I have the same hyperpigmentation problem & those sound great – thanks for sharing!! 🙂

  • You are adorable!! Thanks for the consistently GREAT content and inspiration. I voted for you & hope you win the bloggie awards!!

Contrary to other commenters I think your videos are fine. It could be worse you could have an annoying voice and say nothing of substance. Instead, you’re funny and obviously brighten a lot of people’s day. I’m relatively new to following your blog (since November 2011), but I swear its my favorite of all time.

  • This is a very interesting series. Hope you keep it up. What kind of webcam do you use? I like how it focuses in on the product when you hold it close.

  • Great reviews. I love to see other peoples beauty favorites. I’m going to have to try that Murad serum.

  • I adore Essie, great choices!

  • I have been using the Clinque Even Better Spot remover for my scarring and sun spots. It is working really well, but I might have to give the Murad one a whirl. I have heard amazing things about the Benefit mascara. I am going to have to pick one up at Sephora. Smoky Eyes by Make Up Forever is a really good one too. Great post! Thanks for sharing!!

  • I use Chanel Lumiere foundation. I love it but I probably need a slightly darker shade. Concealer you cant beat YSL Touche Eclat in my opinion. Good advice thanks!

  • Thank you @prttyshnysprkly for including our NEW Vivacious Violets Lip Gloss as one of her January Favorites!!! http://t.co/AESfNAsH #makeup

I am so not a beauty girl so I love seeing all your recommendations, especially knowing we have similar skin types. Gosh darn you oily/combo skin!
BTW, no problem with video length here!

  • Azu

Great video! You’re so natural about speaking in front of the camera. And it helps that you’re pretty too 🙂 That lipgloss from Avon is probably going to be my next big makeup obsession. I will definitely check it out. Thanks so much for sharing!! xoxo

  • So I went to Dillard’s yesterday with the goal of trying the Chanel make-up you mentioned. I should have written it down, because when I got there, I got confused between the Vitaluminare regular and Aqua. I couldn’t remember which one you said to try. She gave me a sample of the regular to try out. She said to come back if I didn’t like it and she’d give me a sample of the Aqua. So we’ll see :)I’ve been using Bare minerals for almost 6 years, but recently I think they changed something in the product because it’s just not as great as it used to be. Since I’m so out of practice with liquid foundation, and I don’t trust the girl at the counter to tell me correct info, how should I apply it? With a sponge, a brush, my finger tips?

    • Hey Rachel- Vitalumiere Aqua is a water-based makeup which you need to shake vigorously each time you apply. Water based makeups tend to work really well with just using your fingers–I also feel you save a lot of product that way. You can use a brush but smooth your fingers over your face after applying to get an airbrushed (no brush strokes) finish.
Bummer about the mixup! Regular Vitalumiere is formulated for dry skin–if that’s what you have it might suit you better, although it’s not going to be as lightweight as aqua. Aqua has alcohol in it and some dry skin users have complained that it catches in dry patches. I haven’t had this problem since I’m combination and I think it works wonders on combo/in-between skin. Hope that helps, Rachel!

      • Perfect! I’m glad I can use my fingers, I get a little skeeved by sponges. And I’m the one cleaning my brushes like every other day for fear of microscopic crawling green slime balls hiding in them.I tried the sample of regular she gave me last night. It seemed alright, I too have combo skin, and with this winter and my recent move to the Midwest, I’m finding my skin is dryer than normal. Maybe I’ll stick with the the regular version. I like the look of it, it didn’t cover super well (I opted not to use a concealer so I could really feel and see how well the foundation works) but the parts of my face that didn’t need any covering looked flawless and felt great. I might bite the bullet and buy the full size, but I think I’ll go back and get a sample of the Aqua too. Just to be sure.
Thanks so much for sharing this find. I would have never wandered over to Chanel for foundation, I’m not sure why, I just think of them as incredibly expensive. But $45 is not that terrible for great looking foundation. Not when most are 30-ish. I’m willing to spend the extra cash for a dewy and natural complexion.
Also, you talked me into another cult favorite I’ve had my eye on for awhile. NARS Laguna Bronzer. THANKYOU for THAT one.

  • Love it! RT @PrttyShnySprkly Today's product favorites video includes those by @AvonInsider @DrMurad @CHANEL & more http://t.co/CiUMC5e9

  • Help! Kristina! My skin is dry (fifty plus skin). I am having problems finding the correct makeup so I don’t appear dried out:) What do you suggest! I have wandered around Dillards but I am overwhelmed.

  • Char Boger

Just bought the avon products! I’ll let you know how is goes.

  • I love entries like these! I always end up super excited and ready to shop afterwards! Thanks again for sharing!

Hi Kristina,On the video you said that you use the Murad serum and the Anew product together. Do you use them at the same time (together each night), or do you alternate every other night with each product? Thank you! (Just found your blog, and I LOVE it!)
