Leopard & Lace

Yesterday I took HB out for his birthday. He’s now a whopping 17 years old!

Kidding. But seriously, he’s 27. Going on 45.

I took him to Fogo de Chao, a cool Brazilian restaurant where waiters in gaucho pants come around with skewers of very red meat (my favorite) and slice off pieces for you. You even have a little coaster, one side green (for GO MEAT! I like to say) and one side red (for OMG I’M FULL). It’s completely indulgent, and I definitely ate at least 3 or 4 roasted bananas (I seriously cannot pass up a roasted/baked/fried banana or plantain–it’s probably one of my favorite dishes).

I don’t think I’ve had so much indulgent, rich food in one week in my life! That’s what you get for having Valentine’s Day and HB’s birthday three days apart, I guess.

The lipstick I’m wearing is L’Oreal “British Red”, and nail polish is OPI Koala Bear-y.

Check out the new PSS tumblr for inspiring fashion, interior design, and other favorite things I collect around the internet. It’s about darn time for the weekend, I’d say! What are your plans?

I hope you noticed (maybe? yes?) that I’ve been working super hard to photograph my outfits more often. I think this week has to be some sort of PSS record! All the credit goes to my lovely man for taking them. He’s so wonderful. Happy Birthday, HB! I love you!

P.S. — You guys are so silly commenting about my ring! It’s from a giveaway on PSS I did a while back – just fits on a ring finger and I happen to be wearing it on my left hand! LOL

We have a place similar to that restaurant called Tucanos and it is seriously the best! I always grab at least 3 fried bananas…they are so good and impossible to make at home!

Love the deep color of those tights–I feel like darker colored tights are still very fun and more mature than maybe the brighter shades. Love it!

And great job on the outfit posts this week too!

Fogo de Chao is one of my favorites!! My dad used to take me there for our "date nights"! It's by far one of the best places to eat when you want some MEAT! LOL. I love when they bring the meat out on swords. It's the coolest thing!

You look amazing in these photos! I love that you chose burgundy tights instead of the usual black that I'm so accustomed to choosing. It really makes the leopard pop! Great choice love bug.

Btw, I'm loving the font while I'm…typing…this…right..now… I know, I'm weird right? 😉

I have the same dress from H&M but didn't like the sleeves so have been looking for ways to cover them up! You did a great job pairing it with the jacket 🙂 I am inspired to try wearing the dress again. http://embracethewarmth.blogspot.com/

I love the rich earthy tones going on here. Bravo! And I get you on the indulgent week. That is my life from January 25 through Feb 14. Every weekend (sometimes two or three times in a week) are a few of my friends birthdays, my own birthday, my best friend's birthday and then V-day. Finally, I feel like I can cleanse or something, if it wasn't for those pesky girl scouts selling their cookies…(that I pre-ordered and are staring me in the face as I write.)

Kristina you never cease to amaze me with your wonderful style! I'm loving all the outfit photos this week!

okay, that's it! You have convinced me that I must ditch Target's tights and switch to We Love Colors. I just talked about this in my last post. I love how opaque they are. You can't see a glimpse of skin in those things. I also like that color.

You look darling! I love how your looks always have just enough glam, but are always appropriate for day! I think I have all the components to recreate a version of this one… A little lace… a little leopard… and a pair of fabulous tights! Totally doable!

Stunning! HB is a lucky guy! (Happy Birthday, HB!)

Did I spy a ring on your left hand? And a manicure? Hmm…

By the way, your "Tweed It Up" outfit post from 16-DEC-2010 totally inspired me! My Mom has a tweed cropped jacket (we're petite, too!) with a cool red/pink/invory/black pattern that I wore on Valentine's Day with my wide-leg Seven Dojos and heels. I received a ton of compliments! Thank you for the inspiration!

Zomg, Fogo de Chao! You have to roll me out of that place when I'm done eating (and eating and eating and eating). Don't tell me you weren't in a meat coma by the time you got home 🙂 Why do they even bother with that salad bar (even though it is delicious)??

There's something about leopard print mixed with a great burgundy/red that I feel is so classic. And the stud bag? Loooove it!

And I have Koala Bear-y, I like to wear it on my toes in the summer time!

i sooo adore leopard and lace! and the color of your tights is a great contrast with your top and shoes!!

I love your leopard jacket! It's so fun paired with a little lace slip-like dress.
    Love, L.

There is a very pretty ring on your left hand that I have never seen before! Not to mention there is no note of it in the outfit description! Do you have some exciting news to share???
( or you don’t, and like me you’ve been in your committed relationship for years and are absolutely sick of people ask. If that’s the case, than lets just leave it at this… great jewelery! )

OOhh that is such a great bag! HB is so good to you.

I know, I loved meeting you as well! The week went by so quickly and I felt like I didn't have enough time to do all the things that I did. September, for sure 🙂

Until then! You are so pretty, Kristina. I love the lace.

The colors of your outfit are perfection, not to mention that the outfit itself is amazing as well. I love how the lacy dress was juxtaposed so pleasingly with leopard, and your wine-colored tights added the true pop making the leopard coat almost seem like a neutral.

Oh, and there's a Brazilian restaurant like that near me, but I'm afraid to go because I'm sure whoever I end up going with would keep the block green way longer than I could handle.

What a fabulous coat! Bummed I missed you at IFB! : )
