May Beauty Favorites!

It’s seriously one of my favorite times of each month – the time when I get to share with you my absolute favorite, cannot-stop-using, cult-status, can’t-live-without-it beauty products. I’ve been loving my Bioderma Créaline H2O micellar water for removing all of my makeup before cleansing with the absolutely fantastic Neutrogena Naturals cleanser. Then I’ve been spraying Caudalie Beauty Elixir into my palms, rubbing them together, and then pressing it onto my face for an invigorating glow.

My favorite foundation has never done me wrong, so I’m back to Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua for lightweight summer-proof foundation, and glossing lips with my Avon Glow lip gloss in Sunset. My cheeks are permanently flushed these days thanks to Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Amused, and my sunscreen-loving face has been bronzing it up with my trusty NARS Laguna bronzer. Check out all of my favorites (including some not listed here!) in my video below!

I’m wearing Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Amused, NARS Laguna Bronzer, M.A.C. eyeshadow in Patina, M.A.C. lipstick in Lady Danger, M.A.C. #4 false eyelashes, a Gap t-shirt, and a necklace that I cannot for the life of me remember where it’s from. 🙂

I love Neutrogena products, you know what – they’re gentle on your skin, they’re fragrance free, they work, they’re affordable – what more can you ask for? Thanks for a fun video.

I agree, Natasha – And I love that Neutrogena came out with a natural line that is just as effective–if not more–than non-natural products!

I love Chanel’s product but unfortunately they do not have foundation for dark skin :(. But other than that awesome review.

Rachelle you’re so right it’s really disappointing..but Make Up For Ever’s HD foundation is one of my other favorites and they have a great shade range xx

Yes I use make up for ever and I love it. And MAC also love the eyeshadows and lipsticks.

Thanks for the tips! I ALWAYS love getting other people’s opinions and reviews on beauty products because let’s face it (pun intended), there are just too many out there to try ourselves.
My bronzer just broke into a million pieces so I’m looking for a new one and may try the one you suggested. Have you ever tried Mary Kay products? My Sis in law just started selling so I know i’ll have to end up buying a few things and wondering what your thoughts are on their products?
    Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

As one of Avon’s Brand Ambassador’s for 2012 I cannot say I have or will try Mary Kay products in the near future..but Avon has a much wider range of awesome makeup products and I’d definitely give them a try first – their quality is out of this world, and so is the price. But I cannot speak to Mary Kay products personally. xx

I am seriously debating a switch to Chanel foundation after hearing you sing its praises. I have combination skin that tends to get oily by the end of the day and eat my makeup, even with primer. Do you think that it’s a good option? I’d love to know your opinion.

    • 06.06.2012 / 11:41 pm

I have combo skin as well but CVA (as I’ve dubbed it) does not last long on our types of skin. I wear it knowing that it will give me about 6-8 hours of coverage. The good thing is it wears off well (it doesn’t separate from the face) but the bad thing is that shine comes back. It’s not an oil control foundation. hope that helps. xx

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is my absolute favorite foundation! I love how light it is but that it still gives great coverage!

You live in Texas, but you have such beautiful, pale skin! What sunscreen(s) do you use to keep it that way?

    • 06.18.2012 / 8:18 pm

I use a sunscreen every day because my face is prone to hyperpigmentation from the sun. Right now I’m using (and LOVING) Neova DNA Repair Silc Screen and it doesn’t smell at all like sunscreen–it’s amazing–but for drugstore I would recommend the L’Oreal Sublime Sun Liquid Face Shield (it comes in a champagne colored box found at drugstores). Tiny bottle and the liquid nature is a little annoying, but it’s high spf (50+) and goes under makeup flawlessly. Hope that helps!

Tarte is on our list of brands to try — definitely moved up the list after your video! Thanks for the great review!
