Mini Haul Video & TV Segment

Hey y’all, sorry for the sparse updating – lots of posts under-way and I promise to sit down and edit them all very soon for you! In the meantime, hope you enjoy a little mini-haul from Trader Joe’s (beauty section), as well as some lovely products sent to me by TheBalm and Azature! Let me know if you’d like to see more mini-hauls from time to time! They’re pretty manageable so I think I can squeeze these in if you like them, on days when I don’t have time for an outfit post! (On that note, I have two outfit posts waiting in the wings, so YES I’m still doing style posts, haha!) Please subscribe to my YouTube videos. Click on to see my TV segment after the jump!

Also, I was on Great Day Houston on CBS a few days ago, and thought I would share the segment with you guys! I was so nervous, I hope it didn’t show; it was my very first-ever television appearance.

Hey Kristina, I loved your segment on Great Day Houston – you come off very relatable, easy going, and knowledgable about the topic at hand. You might have been nervous, but it very definitely paid off in a good way 🙂 Cheers from Philadelphia!

Aw, thank you so much ala! That is so sweet of you to say, and very reassuring. One is always one’s own worst critic, so it’s nice to hear something positive! ~K

Coming out of lurkdom to tell you what a GREAT job you did on that morning show spot, Kristina! I like to think of myself as pretty beauty savvy, but you taught me a thing or two about the science behind cosmetics, and I loved it!
You didn’t seem nervous at all, totally natural. Would love to see future segments like this 🙂

    Hey Kristina,
    Three things:

    1) My hair stylist told me tea tree products were bad for color treated hair. What do you think? The shampoo looks awesome, but don’t want it to strip my color.

    2) I’ll be curious to see what you think about the coconut body butter after you use it for a bit. I thought the smell was awesome and the texture seems luxurious when you first put it on, but then I found that it didn’t rub in very well.

    3) You didn’t seem nervous at all on your TV segment! In fact, as I was watching it I was totally picturing you as one of those doctors who appear on talk shows as experts. Look out Dr. Oz, here you come! 🙂 Congrats on your first TV appearance. You did great!

I would trust your hair stylist more than myself, but I would think that tea tree oil is potent and strong, it’s anti-inflammatory but I’m not sure of the stripping properties inherent in it. While I can’t be positive that it strips color, I would say that if you get two hair experts who agree, there may be some truth to it.
I find the body butter just fine to rub in – that is, it’s more of a body “butter” and not a body lotion, so I never expect them to glide on to the skin like a lotion. They’re super rich, and thick, so it’s somewhat to be expected with a true body butter.

Thank you for your kind words about the TV segment! Ahhh! If y’all could only feel how I was feeling on the inside…

While I had no reason to think you wouldn’t be wonderful on this segment, I’m absolutely amazed by how incredibly well you spoke and carried yourself! To say you’re a natural would be an understatement….great, great job! x

I love to see and read your work. I am a farmer, with two young children, from the North of England and my world is very far removed from yours – who knows, perhaps the cows appreciate the products. Keep up the good work. x

I thought the TV segment was fabulous! You were confident, knowledgeable and still fun. And, you looked great! Have a feeling there is more in your future. Agree with one of the other gals—will be hunting for the coconut body butter!

I am so late on watching you on TV (I bookmarked this page to watch and promptly forgot about it) but I just wanted to say congrats! You did really really well, and you didn’t seem nervous at all! It was so fun to watch.
