Mint + Coral

I would say this week’s Bloggers Do It Better challenge was the most difficult for me yet. I realized I only owned two pieces of mint clothing (one a dress, and one this shirt, last seen here) and I owned far too many pinks and not enough corals. So I decided to get creative. I shopped my closet, and I have to say I’m very proud of myself for resisting the temptation to shop for this one. It already has me thinking of different ways to re-work my other dresses in my wardrobe.

As always, thank you for the photos, hubbie!

If you’re participating in BDIB, how did you pair mint & coral? Give us a tease!

Also, it’s been about six months since Part 2 of my Secrets to Successful Fashion Blogging series. Leave a comment if you’d like to see more, or if you think I’ve pretty much covered it all. What would you like to learn more about?

I’m technically not a Blogger but I do follow yours and I follow you on Twitter. I absolutely LOVE the way you paired this seasons hottest trends of coral, mint, lace and poplin style dresses and shirts! You definitely have that “IT” factor! I posted a pic of my coral and mint to Twitter. Check it out! Keep up the blogging and great fashion! I love it 🙂

  • Love love love this dress on you! I’ve been dying to try the peplum trend, but my body is just not built for it. Yours was 🙂 Looking forward to tomorrow’s challenge!

  • You know how crazy I get about wanting to be first in line for BDIB, but I didn’t have any coral pieces either, so I had to skip this one 🙁 Love the look you chose and how it’s ladylike and sophisticated – those heels are just amazing!

    • Me too! I was disappointed because I’ve been dying for BDIB to come back. Hopefully I can participate in the next one, which hopefully will be soon.

  • I absolutely love the combination of the dress and blouse! Looks great!
I only had two mint pieces (jeans and a dress) and one coral piece (tank top) so I just went with a coral top and mint jeans. Such a great color combination!

  • Hello! I love this and what you’ve done to get creative with what you have in your closet!! I also love how your new sparkler is SPARKLING in that picture with your hand on your head. I am working on my post right now. This will be my first link up with you, so thank you in advance, for the opportunity. I am with you… I only had ONE mint piece and ONE coral piece in my closet, so I did have to stretch a bit on this. I hope you will take a look!

  • I love this look, it’s girly & glamorous… not to mention those are some of my favorite colors.

  • I sooo badly wish I could do this challenge! But I don’t own any mint pieces 🙁 Hopefully I will be able to do the next BDIB! It will be my first one!

  • So excited for tomorrow – I just got a coral dress in the mail, then saw your post, it was meantto be.

  • I love it! What an inspiring outfit! Excited to play along tomorrow.

  • So pretty! Love how you paired the shirt with a dress, very creative. 🙂

  • Love the peplum. I was determined to join in on your next challenge but I do not own anything mint and just like you resisted the urge to go shopping. Next timeK

  • Cute look, I love that you shopped your closet instead of getting something new!

Your look is fabulous. Is it ever cloudy in your area? That’s when colors pop in photos. Your mint & coral photo colors are washed out by the bright sunlight. The coral comes out good, but the mint….not so much.

  • PLEASE DO ANOTHER SEGMENT OF YOUR BLOGGING GUIDE!!! LITERALLY THE MOST HELPFUL THING EVER!!! :)Rory

    • I agree. I mentioned via the blogtrends chat last night, the key role your guide played in the launch of my own blog in May of 2011. It was such a wonderful and concise overview of what needed to be done. Maybe in the next update, you can add some helpful hints for working with brands, online resources for technical help, etc.

  • This is gorgeous, Kristina! The way you wore the mint blouse under your coral dress is very chic and such a fun new way to wear those items you already have in your closet. I also resisted the urge to buy pieces for this challenge and am happy with what I came up with. I just posted my mint and coral outfit on my blog, can’t wait for the link-up at midnight tonight!
As for your blogging segment, I’d love to learn how to optimize the use of social media channels and how many social media outlets is considered too much. I really enjoyed Parts 1 and 2, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!

Love the dress over the blouse look! Amazing. ;)I did a post today with a mint tee and coral cardi, but the real one will be tomorrow – coral dress with mint accessories! Can’t wait to link up!

  • Love how you re-worked this dress. The peplum look is gorgeous and those shoes are the best. I am not in this one, mostly because my time has been in the negative!, however hoping I can get in on my first BDIB next time!

  • Val

like how you styled the look…this is my first BDIB! I have a ton of coral but only pops of mint and added turquoise to my look…excited to link up tomorrow 🙂

  • I actually wrote a post about my mini-shopping trip. I just needed a mint bottom and it’s been on my summer shopping list. BDIB just gave me an excuse to move up the purchase ; )
Also, yes please publish the second installment of your BB guide!

  • Wait, I’m wondering if I will get penalized for posting two separate links? I have a mint dress and coral pants. There is no way that I can combine the two however…. OR maybe I could add a link on my mint page to my coral.. Look at that, problem solved.
Seriously, I am so glad that BDIB is back. As a new blogger (when should I stop saying that–on my second anniversary?) the BDIB challenges brought so much traffic to my site and helped me to connect with a ton of people. I can’t wait to join in the link party.

  • Amazing! Love the look! And those killer shoes! 🙂

  • You look awesome, I like your outfit & the lip color is going so well with this dress

  • I love what you have done here. And well done for shopping your wardrobe – I resisted temptation too!

  • Chaz

At the risk of using an overused term, girl, you look fierce! I loooooove this outfit on you! The peplum gives you great curves and the shoes??? Well… what can i say. Fierce! 🙂

  • New blogger here, and I’m so glad to have found your blog! That look is amazing – I’ve been obsessed with peplum recently (just ordered my first top!), and those shoes are fierce. 🙂 That coral is fantastic with your coloring.

  • I love your entire outfit, and your shoes are amazing! I don’t own any mint colored clothes, but looking foward to participating in the next BDIB 🙂

  • I too had to scour my closet, but I’m glad I was able to find something! I love this look, so feminine, yet those statement heels say you’ve got ‘stones!’

  • Looking so adorable as always….love how you put together the pieces!!
