Oxbloody Crazy

I am so glad I held out on the bright-red-pants trend because oxblood is infinitely more wearable (and slimming!). And I’m glad I finally got to bust out the pirate shirt (aptly named by my husband) from Zara – it’s hot but not stiflingly so, and this blouse is sheer so I can stand to wear it without sweating bullets. I’m so sorry I was a little silly about setting the link-up date for the Bloggers Do It Better oxblood challenge for today – I couldn’t actually do it because I would be posting my own outfit the same day and that would have been a mess. I apologize. The link up post will go live tonight at midnight Central time.

  • I could not agree more! I have what I like to call “sprinter legs”, so bright denim was just NOT going to work for me. Oxblood? Totally. And I love how easily it pairs with leopard prints.
    Lovely!

  • These jeans look great! I really had no idea how fun of a color oxblood was before this challenge…the color works well with so much! I love it with leopard!!

  • beautiful light and beautiful woman! love the oxblood, guess i’m going shopping today πŸ™‚

  • You look gorgeous, as always, but I just can’t get on this oxblood train. I may be the only person resisting it!

    • Penny

Dawn, I’m with you on the oxblood. It looks great on others, but I’m just not into it for my wardrobe. The closest thing I have to oxblood is my lipstick and it’ll stay that way =)I agree with the other commentors – the leopard looks great with the oxblood – great pairing choice!

    • OK I second Dawn’s comment about not being able to “get into” oxblood this season. Like Penny says, it tends to look better on other people not me. Having said that, this outfit that Kristina pulled together is lovely. I love the accessorizing with the leopard print thin belt and shoes. And the white flouncy blouse really breaks up the ox blood.I believe the secret to wearing oxblood is knowing how to pull it off i.e. ensure the other items you wear with it work with this strong color rather than fight it.

  • The leopard looks great with the oxblood.

  • Yes I am loving the oxblood even if I think the name is a bit trendy and a tad gross! Still the colour is super flattering and will transition nicely into the holiday season from fall making us get loads of wear out of the colour! Looking forward to the link up.

  • I am a huge fan of the leopard belt and heels! This is a great unexpected way to bring in animal print for work! And of course, I’m loving oxblood for fall! As always, you hit the nail on the head with this look girl!

So, I was hesitant to join this Oxblood party, because I am NOT a fashion blogger, but I do wear clothes. So, I am joining the fun, but please do not expect too much, and I hope you will excuse the fact that I am not a fashion blogger. I am going to give it my best shot!

  • Great color combo! Oxblood is oh so very fall & I like it with the touches of leopard!

  • Sarah

love oxblood jeans. i think it’s as wearable a color as black or navy. and those jeans! The cut of them is perfect. I don’t know much about how the cut or fabric makes makes different brands of skinny jeans look so different – all I know is that they matter. You could show me a whole page full of jeans, and my favorites are often Paige. Must try some. Love your blog, happy weekend! xo

  • I am loving this colour trend. Very nice outfit too πŸ™‚
