The 5 Best Concealers

From one acne-prone gal to another: I have tried them all. Watching the video above, I show you just the CURRENT concealers I have in my collection (which of course doesn’t include all the old ones I’ve since thrown away). But I’ve narrowed them down, with difficulty, to my absolute top 5 favorite concealers at the moment. Now, by no means am I saying this will always be my favorites, as the technology is getting better and better and formulations are becoming higher coverage with less “weight” so…this is, as they say, “subject to change”. But I’ll be sure to update you down the road if anything catches my fancy. But for the past year or so, these are the ones I’ve been reaching for the most.

  1. Maybelline Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer
  2. Benefit Boi-ing
  3. Diorskin Sculpt Lifting Smoothing Concealer
  4. Benefit Erase Paste
  5. Bobbi Brown Corrector Concealer

What’s your favorite concealer of all time? I’d love to know!

I’ve been using the Maybelline concealer since it came out, but I have noticed it doesn’t last throughout the day. I’ll definitely look into your other recommendations. From one pale person to another I love all of your makeup videos!

i’m a fan of the boi-ing too since it covers dark acne scars very well. what mascara are you wearing? it separates and coats your lashes SO well !

Thanks! I used Lash Discovery in this video! Oh and they aren’t my real lashes…just a disclaimer 😉

just drugstore falsies! i forget the brand but they come with the weird red nylon strings attached to each one to aid in better application…but I think it hinders more than helps

I am a fan of Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer. It’s a bit of a thicker formula so you only need a dab, and it’s very long-lasting. I would love to see a video featuring your favorite eyeliners! Yours always looks so pretty.

I featured amazing cosmetics in my old how to cover up under eye circles! But I’ve found benefit erase paste to be superior. More coverage but less heavy and no creasing.

Thanks! I picked up some Erase Paste at Sephora this weekend with my 15% off VIB coupon. Excited to try it!

First off: really liked this video. I don’t have acne but suffer from zombie-like circles under my eyes. Seriously, it’s horror movie scary. I’m loving the product you used in this video and will definitely try to stop by my local Sephora ASAP for it cause it looks amazing!
Second: since watching one of your last videos (the what’s in my work bag vid) I have bought myself my very own Zara Office City bag (though mine’s in tan) today. Thank you so much for the tip to buy it. It’ll be perfect for school & work when I have to lug my laptop with me :))

Thirdly: I don’t know about everyone else but I’m pretty interested in your storage system. As someone who lives in a TINY TINY TINY flat and has everything everywhere, I’m very interested in how you store things (from make-up to shoes:))

    • 04.11.2013 / 8:40 pm

1: you will not regret trying erase paste if that’s what you end up purchasing!
2: awesome! tweet me a pic of you rockin’ your tan, I’d love to see how the tan looks on a person, because i might actually go back and get that color as well, that’s how much i love this bag!

3: I get requests for my makeup collection & storage a lot – so you’re definitely being heard – but I’m waiting for when I feel like my storage is just where I want it. And it’s nearly there!

Love love Benefits products! Also LOVE your eyes in this video. You regularly have beautiful makeup but in this video they popped SO much! How did you do your makeup (liner/lashes) for it to look so stunning and simple?!

    • 04.11.2013 / 8:38 pm

Thanks so much! Well…the lashes aren’t my own (ha) they’re from the drugstore..and I just did a simple gel eyeliner and matte neutral eyeshadows.

Great post! I’m going to have to add one of these to my list! I’ve been using the Origins Plantscriptions Anti-Aging concealer. I like the texture of it, but it is not near enough coverage to hide these dark circles! Darn tree pollen! One video I would LOVE to see: something on brushes. I have a collection of some really nice brushes, but I am not sure if I’m using the best tool for the job.

I love Bobbi Brown corrector. It keeps me from looking like I’ve just risen from the grave, and the texture is really nice and smooth. It’s also good for splotchy redness I get sometimes on my chin and cheeks.

I am currently using a Clinique concealer, but am not happy with the results. So I will soon be switching to the Maybelline eraser dark circles treatment concealer.

I am going to go try the maybelline concealer today! Walgreens has a beauty counter rewards card now. Also, are you wearing false lashes? They look amazing!!-Ash

How do you set the Benefit erase paste? I bought it a while ago because so many bloggers recommend it, but I wasn’t able to fall in love with it. :(I also like the Maybelline, it really blends nicely, but I feel like it is not covering well my circles. Maybe my under-eye circles are just too extreme! 😛
