Little Toy Soldiers – By What I Wore

Guest Blogger: Jessica Quirk | What I Wore

While I'm in Norway for the holidays I've asked a few select bloggers to host Pretty Shiny Sparkly until my return. Please give Jessica of What I Wore a warm welcome to PSS with your comments! xoxo -- Kristina

For my Holiday inspired guest post I wanted to write a little about one of my family's favorite traditions - painting Christmas ornaments.  When my Mom and Dad were first married, they had to DIY their Christmas decorations due to a lack of funds.  Now, thirty years later - we're still making our own ornaments each Christmas Eve.  We paint one to keep and one to give to another family member.  My dad even drives around town looking for the sorriest little tree (all trees need families!) to hang our artwork onto.

A couple years ago my Mom found these awesome miniature nutcrackers and they are my favorite Christmas craft to date!! I painted the little IU santa for my dad and did the guy in purple too (who I like to call Prince Caspian).

Besides sitting around the table painting with my family, we have years and years of home made ornaments (and stories) to enjoy each Christmas.

(Thanks to Kristina for having me contribute to her Pretty Shiny Sparkly holiday series!)
