Updated BB & CC Cream Roundup Part 1

Updated BB & CC Cream Roundup Part 1

Over a year ago, I shared my favorite selection of  newly created category of bases called "BB creams". Most people were not familiar with BB creams at this point, and many were confused as to what they actually did. Since then, I've created a Worst BB Creams post & video, and although I've mentioned my favorites since then in a lot of my beauty videos, I had yet to sit down and share my thoughts on the current BB creams on the market, which is vastly different from where it was when I created my first post. Depending on your support/requests, I would be happy to continue this as part of an ongoing series (i.e., a multi-parter that goes beyond parts 1 and 2) if you so wish. Let me know in the comments and cast your vote for more by hitting the Like button below (at the bottom of the post) and the "thumbs up" button within the video player!

Dr. Jart Black Label Detox BB Cream

A lot can be said for my total love for this BB cream. It has amazing coverage, gives a natural skin-like finish to the skin (so it's perfect for both oily and dry skin types), has SPF and anti-aging properties, and it's in amazing packaging. The downside? It comes in only the one shade. For shame, Dr. Jart! That being said, it has great coverage if you have light-to-medium skin tones. Dr. Jart makes a whole host of other BB creams, some of which are for darker skin tones, so don't give up if you're interested in this brand. Purchase »

Skin79 Super Plus Triple Function BB Cream

Hands down, one of my favorite BB creams of all time. Sadly, one shade, as is typical of Korean BB creams. But this provides the most astounding coverage (medium to full), and I've noticed an improvement in my skin's texture, age spots, and (dare I say it?) acne, since using this product religiously. Purchase »

Lumene Vitamin C BB Cream

Hands down one of my favorite BB creams for those with sensitive or dry skins. Doesn't work for me since I'm Normal/Combination, but dry/mature skin users will love the dewy effect it gives and blurs fine lines quite dramatically! Purchase »

L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream

I've mentioned this before (and even on TV), for good reason. It's a great budget BB cream, and perfect for those who are particular about using their own sunscreen (as this lacks SPF, oddly) or want to use it at night where they'll be expecting flash photography. While I don't have any paparazzi on my trail, it's a nice choice for a light coverage, everyday-wear, especially for those just getting their feet wet in the BB cream arena. The bursting pigment beads are a fun little bonus. Purchase »
